A) Partner Orphanages

1. The Fruitful Orphanage

The Fruitful Orphanage was founded in 2014 by Isaac John Sumari and is located in the northern part of Tanzania, in a small suburb of Arusha, at the foot of Mount Meru. It is home to nearly 200 children, with about 90 living there permanently.

Key facts:

  • A Home for All Children:
The orphanage provides a safe home and support for both orphaned children and children from disadvantaged families.
  • Care and Development:
The children are lovingly cared for by the “Mamas,” who look after their well-being around the clock. They are provided with a nurturing environment where they can play, learn, and grow.
  • Access to Food and Healthcare:
All children, whether living in the orphanage or attending during the day, are provided with nutritious meals tailored to their needs. In addition, the orphanage ensures regular medical care and hygiene practices to support the children’s overall health and well-being.
  • Dependence on Donations:
The orphanage does not receive government funding and relies on regular donations to continue providing for and supporting the children.

“The collaboration with the Fruitful Orphanage began with Anna and Sina in 2017-2018 and marked the origin of Elimupendo. As the first partner project, the Fruitful Orphanage laid the foundation and holds a special place in the development of the” organization.

The Blessed Orphanage is also located in Arusha and was founded by Tony Oscar. He established the orphanage to provide protection, care, and a reliable daily structure for children in particularly difficult life situations. Currently, 45 children live there.

Key facts:

  • Protection & Care for Vulnerable Children
In response to the growing number of street and orphaned children in Arusha, the orphanage offers safety, security, and daily care.
  • Teaching Life Skills & Responsibility
The goal is to provide the children with stability, social orientation, and a sense of belonging.
  • Basic Care & Daily Structure
Regular provision of food, clothing, medical assistance, and emotional support – funded by donations.
  • Capacity Limits & Dependence on Donations
With only three rooms, the orphanage is facing spatial limitations. Due to its full reliance on donations, not all children can be housed on-site – some have to stay with neighbors.

The collaboration with Blessed Orphanage is an important step for Elimupendo in offering smaller orphanages long-term perspectives. The goal is to work together to purchase additional land and build new facilities.
