1. Purpose and Structure of a Sponsorship

Our organization facilitates school sponsorships for children and youth in Tanzania who, due to social or financial circumstances, do not have reliable access to education. The goal is to enable long-term educational paths together with local partners—structured, transparent, and tailored to the individual needs on the ground

Why We Facilitate Sponsorships?

Access to education in Tanzania is not guaranteed for all children despite compulsory schooling laws, as public schools often face capacity and quality limitations. Private schools generally offer better learning conditions but are financially inaccessible for many families.

The children we propose for sponsorship in cooperation with our Tanzanian partner organizations either live in the Fruitful Orphanage, the Blessed Orphanage, or come from families unable to cover education costs.

Sponsorships provide these children with:

  • Access to reliable schooling,
  • A continuous learning journey in a stable environment,
  • And fair chances for a self-determined future.

Our aim is not a one-sided aid relationship but a partnership that strengthens local initiatives and promotes sustainable development.

2. The Education System in Tanzania

Tanzania’s education system is deeply shaped by its colonial history. During the colonial period, education primarily served the interests of the colonial powers and a small elite, severely limiting access for the majority of the local population.

After gaining independence in 1961, President Julius Nyerere implemented extensive reforms, making primary education compulsory and promoting the expansion of public schools to ensure education for all. Despite these advances, challenges remain—particularly regarding the quality of public schools and equal access to education.

Structure of the Tanzanian Education System

The system is modeled on the British education system and generally starts around age three. Despite the expansion of public education, challenges persist in terms of resources, quality, and equitable access.

3. Partnerschools

We cooperate with two primary schools and one secondary school in Arusha to ensure children receive high-quality education and personalized support.
